Coventry City have agreed a deal to sign midfielder Andy Rose until June 2017.

Subject to international clearance, the Sky Blues have agreed a deal which will see the 25-year old join the club on January 2nd, 2016 when his current deal with Seattle Sounders ends.

Rose trained with City on a trial basis from MLS side Seattle Sounders, where he played 25 times last season, and impressed City boss Tony Mowbray.

The Melbourne-born midfielder spent time with Bristol City's Academy before moving to America to begin his professional football career.

After stints with Seattle Wolves and Ventura County Fusion, Rose joined Seattle Sounders in March 2012 and has since gone on to make over 80 appearances for the MLS side.

City manager Tony Mowbray said: "We had Andy over for a trial and during that time, he impressed me with his athleticism and the attributes he brings to the position.

"He's six foot three, very lean, upright and covers the ground and eats the grass up when he runs.

"Andy will have to learn the way we play and he showed good progress during his trial period so I'm looking forward to working with him further."
