Coventry automotive company NSL sponsor Coventry City's new training wear and all Academy teams

The Sky Blues' training wear and Academy sides will be sponsored by local company NSL...

A Coventry automotive company, which is enjoying sustained growth, is backing the Sky Blues in a big way.

NSL Automotive, which recently moved to a new headquarters on the New Inn Bridge Industrial Estate, will see its logo adorn Coventry City’s new training wear for the 2015/16 season after agreeing a significant sponsorship deal.

The company is also sponsoring all of the club’s Academy teams from under-eights through to under-18s and, as part of the package, the firm will receive a host of benefits for becoming an official club partner.

They include everything from a range of profile-raising and advertising opportunities on matchdays to visits from players and coaching staff to the business throughout the season.
NSL, a city-based remanufacturer of steering products and brake callipers for the automotive trade, will also receive corporate tickets for each match as well as a matchball and match sponsorship throughout the season.

Mick Parsons, who runs NSL Automotive and who is also a die-hard City fan, said the new sponsorship deals would be mutually beneficial.

He said: “We originally got on board with the club from a sponsorship point of view last season. They had just come back to the city and I wanted to show the club my support.

“We really wanted to give something back and felt backing the club could support their efforts on the pitch – not just the first team but through to the Academy too.

“I knew it would help to raise the profile of the business but I wasn’t anticipating just how much exposure it would bring to the company and that has really helped us with our growth.”

He added: “We’ve gone even further this time and have, once again, looked at sponsorship packages that can reflect our support for the club and also that back both the first team and the Academy.

“I feel this is an exciting time for the club – it’s been a really positive close-season so far with good news around the appointment of Tony Mowbray and my main motivation continues to be supporting the ongoing progress of the club.”

Tynan Scope, corporate sales manager for Coventry City, said: “We’ve all got to know Mick and his family over the past year and his passion for the club shines through. We are delighted to have agreed these new sponsorship deals with NSL Automotive and look forward to working with the company over the course of the next year and beyond.”

Steve Waggott, Coventry City chief executive, said: “This is further great news and we are delighted to see NSL thriving. It’s a great partnership and one we believe can get even stronger over the years to come.”
