NEWS: Coventry City to show support for Kick it Out and Football v Homophobia against Fleetwood Town

23 February 2016

Coventry City Football Club will show support for two campaigns aimed at ridding football and society of prejudice and discrimination at our game against Fleetwood this Saturday at the Ricoh Arena.
The Sky Blues’ match against Fleetwood Town is the club’s designated Kick It Out game for the season and, on the same day City will also be supporting the Football vs Homophobia campaign.

Players will warm-up in Kick It Out t-shirts and there will be a short video on the big screen at half-time. Kick It Out clap banners will also be provided in the Family Zone too for young supporters, as well as Kick It Out stickers.

Kick It Out is football’s equality and inclusion organisation, working throughout the football, educational and community sectors to challenge discrimination, encourage inclusive practices and campaign for positive change.

You can see more about the work of Kick It Out on their website at kickitout.org, on Twitter at @kickitout or you can also download the Kick It Out reporting app. This app allows fans to anonymously report any incidents of racism or discrimination that they witness at any level of the game, and also includes the latest news from the campaign.

We are also showing our support for the Football vs Homophobia campaign, with February being the annual Football v Homophobia month of action. FvH is a global campaign challenging homophobia and discrimination against Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people across football. To find out more about the initiative and how you can get involved please visit footballvhomophobia.com or follow them on Twitter: @FvHtweets

The Sky Blues are proud to support Kick It Out and Football v Homophobia, and we are committed to making football safe and inclusive of everybody. We hope that our fans will help us to support both of these campaigns by reporting any offensive behaviour to club staff.
