Coventry City FC can confirm seven academy scholars have been offered professional contracts ahead of the 2017/18 season.

Tom Bayliss and top scorer Jordan Ponticelli accepted terms before the Christmas period, while a further five members of the high-flying U18s setup have subsequently earned a contract offer.

Defenders Reece Ford, Jak Hickman, Chris Camwell and Jordan Thompson, as well as midfielder Kyle Finn have all been rewarded with an official offer from the club.

The club are yet to make a final decision on others within the squad.

Academy Manager Richard Stevens said: "The club are delighted to be able to reward a large part of the U18s group with their first contracts, and look forward to watching them progress as first year pro’s.

"The U18s have performed incredibly well this year, and fully deserve the chance to further develop their careers at this football club.

"Some of these boys have been with Coventry City since the age of eight, and this is another positive step in their footballing education and growth."
