Coventry City got a point against Bradford City as the two sides drew 1-1 at the Ricoh Arena. Frank Nouble gave the Sky Blues the lead before Mark Yeates' free kick levelled the scores.

Manager Tony Mowbray made one change from the side that started Saturday's game against Port Vale. Sanmi Odelusi started for the first time since his injury, replacing Dominic Samuel.

Bradford started well and should have been ahead in the fourth minute. James Meredith hit a low cross from the byline and James Hanson skied the ball over from ten yards.

The Sky Blues had a golden chance of their own three minutes later when Frank Nouble and Marcus Tudgay linked up well. The latter put a lovely through ball in the forwards path, but he fired just wide from inside the six-yard box.

It was a steady first quarter of an hour but it burst into life just afterwards when Jim O'Brien put a long ball into the area and Aaron Martin was there to get ahead of keeper Ben Williams but he directed his header just over.

The game was a solid, steady affair with the Bantams looking to utilise the arial threat of Hanson, whilst City were looking to Odelusi and Nouble to provide support for Tudgay up front.

Ten minutes before the break saw another chance for City. Odelusi picked the ball up just inside half way and drove towards goal, but the ball hit a bobble just as he got a shot away and his effort was shanked wide.

City went ahead on the stroke of half time with a fine goal. Odelusi jinked past two men just outside the box and played a great ball to Aaron Phillips on the overlap. He drilled the ball across and Nouble was there to tap home his fifth goal of the season.

It was the last action on a first half where City were the better side. However the second period saw the Bantams start brightly and pile pressure on the Sky Blues goal, but Lee Burge punched and then claimed well from successive crosses.

Mowbray used all of his substations on the hour as Andy Webster, Nick Proschwitz and Dominic Samuel all came on for Jim O'Brien, Odelusi and the injured Phillips respectively.

The Bantams reminded City of their attacking intent on 65 minutes as Filipe Morais cut inside and let fly from 25 yards, the ball going just over the bar.

Bradford equalised just four minutes later. Mark Yeates smashed home a free kick from inside the D, the ball curling inside Burge's far post.

The visitors had their tails up and started piling on the pressure. City had a chance to counter when Samuel found Nouble. He drove inside the area but could only fins the side netting with his shot from an angle.

Nouble was at it again two minutes later when he took on two men from the byline and beat them for pace, he tried to play it across goal but Williams dived on it.

It was all City and with ten minutes left Proschwitz had a golden opportunity to score his first for the club. The ball dropped to him from ten yards out but he dragged his shot just wide.

It was anybodies game and Hanson nearly won it for the visitors nearly won it when Hanson found space in the area and headed toads the corner, but Burge got down fantastically to keep the ball out and the scores even.

Andy Halliday had a header that looped over in the dying minutes but the game looked like it was destined to stay even.

And that's how it stayed as City get a point in a tense game. Next up for the Sky Blues is an away trip to Chesterfield on Saturday.
