Coventry City comfortably took their place in the FA Cup second round after a 3-1 win over AFC Wimbledon at Kingsmeadow.
Two goals from Carl Baker and one from Callum Wilson overturned the Dons' early second half opener courtesy of Michael Smith to ensure their place in the hat for Sunday's draw.
City boss Steven Pressley made two changes to his side for the cup clash, right back Cyrus Christie returning from injury to replace Aaron Phillips with Adam Barton stepping in for the suspended John Fleck.
It was AFC that made most of the early running as they seemed intent on getting on the scoresheet at early as possible.
For all of the game's frantic pace in the opening stages though it was then devoid of any clear cut chances until Callum Wilson whistled an effort a fraction over the bar from 20 yards after 25 minutes.
Seven minutes before the break though Wimbledon carved out another chance, this time George Porter slipping a short through ball to Michael Smith who tried to tuck a finish under Murphy from six yards only to be denied by the 'keeper's legs.
Smith continued to be a danger for the home side and he tried to steer a flick with the outside of his boot past Murphy just two minutes after the restart but the City 'keeper was equal to it.
Two minutes later though the Sky Blues came the closest anybody had come to opening the scoring when swift flowing move ended with a flick from Leon Clarke into the path of Wilson who tried to poke him a finish at full stretch only to see the ball take a deflection and bounce off the foot of the post.
Wimbledon were ahead on 53 minutes though and it was Smith who grabbed the goal. The big striker seemed to be the home side's most likely scorer and he proved so when he headed home Porter's right-sided cross from six yards.
The lead was shortlived though and in bizarre fashion as City grabbed their leveller just three minutes later. Cyrus Christie's deep cross looked comfortable enough for 'keeper Seb Brown but he fumbled his catch and the ball popped over his head, Wilson on hand to poke home on the line as the 'keeper desperately tried to make amends.
No sooner had City grabbed the equaliser though they were level a minute before the hour. Franck Moussa chased down a stray ball heading towards the AFC corner flag and cutting a ball back for Carl Baker who hammered home from eight yards.
Wimbledon tried to respond in kind after 62 minutes when Pell took the ball from midfield and fired a long range effort just inches over the bar.
City made it three on 69 minutes though with a minor stroke of good fortune when Moussa was fouled 20 yards out and Baker stepped up to take the free kick which took a defelction which wrong footed Brown on its way into the net.
Neil Ardley's side showed no signs of giving up though and nearly got one back eight minutes from time through substitute Jack Midson who latched onto a through ball from Smith and troed to beat Murphy at his near post, the City 'keeper having to flick the effort over his bar.
It was the closest Wimbledon came to clawing their way back into the game though as City saw out the remainder of the game in a calm fashion to safeguard their spot in the second round.
